I was hired by co-lab to do some placemaking installations for their project. I worked with a local resident named Barry to create an archway. Our materials were the discarded wood from a simultaneous bench building project. Reusing the materials that were around tied the archway in aesthetically to the benches. The hope was that the archway(in conjunction with a sign laying out the history of that laneway) would be a welcoming installation to help change peoples perceptions of the footpath laneway.
